    Pick a number from 1 to 100

This random number generator 1-100 spins a wheel with every whole number from 1 to 100 on it and stops on one. Each number has exactly a 1 percent chance. Use it for guessing games, raffles with up to 100 tickets, classroom picks, or any time you want a number that nobody chose on purpose.

It runs in your browser, costs nothing and needs no account.

How to use the random number generator 1-100

    1. Press Spin in the middle of the wheel. Clicking the wheel or pressing Ctrl + Enter works too.
    2. Watch the pointer on the right side. The slice it stops on is your number.
    3. Read the result box. It says “Your number is” and shows the number in large type.
    4. Pick Done to close it, Remove it to take that number out of play, or Spin again for another draw.

Why all 100 numbers fit on the wheel

The default range holds exactly 100 numbers, so each one gets its own slice. The slices are narrow, and on a small phone the labels get tiny, but they are all there. The result box always shows the number clearly.

If you raise the Maximum, say to 500, the wheel changes how it looks. More than 100 slices would be too thin to read, so the tool draws the winner from the full range first and then shows a wheel of 24 sample numbers that includes that winner. Every number in the range still has the same chance. Only the picture changes. Bring the range back to 100 numbers or fewer and every number gets its own slice again.

    Options worth knowing

    Minimum and Maximum

The page starts at 1 and 100. You can type 0 and 99, or 1 and 50, and the wheel rebuilds right away.

    Numbers to skip

List numbers you want left out, separated by commas, with a hyphen for a run, such as 7, 13, 90-100.

    No repeats

Turn this on and each drawn number leaves the wheel until you press “Put drawn numbers back”. For a page that starts with this already on, see the random number generator with no repeats.

    Settings and results

The Settings tab sets the spin time from 1 to 30 seconds and has switches for sound, confetti and a mystery mode that hides the labels. The Results tab tallies how often each number came up and keeps a log you can copy.

Ways to use a number from 1 to 100

    • Higher or lower. One person spins with the screen turned away, and everyone else guesses. If you halve the range with each guess, seven guesses are always enough to find the number.
    • A 100 ticket raffle. Number the tickets 1 to 100, skip any that were not sold, and turn on No repeats for second and third prize.
    • Classroom picks. Give each student a number, or choose a page to read from a short book.
    • Percent goals. Treat the result as a percentage. A 40 means you finish 40 percent of a task before your next break.
    • Workout counts. Let the wheel decide how many jumping jacks or seconds of plank come next.

    Is it fair?

The winning number is chosen with your browser’s cryptographic random generator (crypto.getRandomValues) before the wheel starts moving. The spin only reveals it. Each spin is independent, so a number can repeat unless you switch on No repeats.

For other ranges and negative numbers, the main random number generator starts with a blank slate.

    Frequently asked questions

Does every number from 1 to 100 really appear on the wheel?

Yes. With the default range there are exactly 100 numbers in play, so each one gets its own thin slice. The wheel only switches to a sample of 24 numbers if you widen the range past 100 numbers.

What are the odds of getting a particular number?

Each number has a 1 in 100 chance, or 1 percent, on every spin. Past results do not change that, so the same number can come up twice in a row unless you turn on No repeats.

Are 1 and 100 both included?

Yes. The range is inclusive at both ends, so 1 and 100 can each be picked and there are 100 possible results.

Can I stop a number from coming up twice?

Yes. Switch on 'No repeats' in the Options tab. Each drawn number leaves the wheel, and the 'Put drawn numbers back' button returns them when you want to start over.

Can I change the range to 0 to 99 or 1 to 1000?

Yes. Type a new Minimum and Maximum in the Options tab. A range with more than 100 numbers shows 24 sample numbers on the wheel, but the winner is still drawn from every number in the range.

    Will it remember my settings?

Partly. The skip list and the No repeats switch are saved in this browser's local storage, so they are waiting for you next time. The range itself always opens on 1 to 100 here; the main random number generator remembers a custom range.
