Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which tools are used most. It sets the first-party cookies_ga and _ga_*, which keep a random ID so repeat visits can be counted, and which expire after up to two years. They do not contain your entries or anything you type into the tools. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Hosting cookies

The tools themselves set no cookies. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell real visitors from automated traffic.

Advertising cookies

The site may show ads served by Google AdSense. When ads are shown, Google and its partners may set or read cookies, such as __gads, __gpi and __eoi on this site and cookies on Google domains such as doubleclick.net. They are used to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ads and prevent fraud, and, with your consent where the law requires it, to personalize ads based on your visits to this and other websites.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent before cookies are used for personalized ads.

Local storage

Instead of cookies, the tools use your browser's local storage to remember things between visits. This data stays on your device and is not sent to us.

Theme: whether you chose the light or dark theme.
Wheel data: entries, settings and results for each tool.
Saved wheels: wheels you saved by name.
Tool options: for example the number range or team size you last used.
Quiz score: your best flag quiz result.

The site also keeps a copy of pages you have visited in your browser's cache, so they open faster and work offline.

How to clear it

Use "Reset this wheel" in a tool's Settings tab to clear that tool, or clear site data for onlinepickerwheel.com in your browser settings to remove everything at once, including cookies and the offline copy. Most browsers also let you block cookies; blocking analytics or advertising cookies does not stop the tools from working.
