Truth or dare questions on a wheel

This page gives you 294 truth or dare questions and a wheel that picks one at random. There are 142 truths and 152 dares, all clean, for kids, teens, adults, families and groups of friends. Blue slices are truths and orange-red slices are dares.

By default the slices only say Truth or Dare, so the question stays hidden until the wheel stops and nobody can aim for an easy one. If you would rather see every question on the wheel, switch on “Show the full question on each slice” in the Options tab.

How to play with the truth or dare generator

      1. Set your chips and numbers in the Options tab before the game starts. The next section covers them.
      2. The first player presses Spin in the wheel center, clicks the wheel, or presses Ctrl + Enter.
      3. The wheel lands on a truth or a dare, and the result box shows the full question.
      4. The player answers the truth or does the dare.
      5. Press Remove it so that question cannot come up again, then pass to the next player.

To save a tap on every turn, open Settings and switch on “Remove each winner automatically”.

      Type: Truth or Dare

Both are on by default. Untick Dare for a truths-only round, which works well in a car or on a video call where dares are hard to do. Untick Truth for an all-dares party round.

      Audience

Five chips choose who the questions are for:

      • Family (30 questions). Silly prompts for all ages, like “Walk across the room like a crab.”
      • Friends (30 questions). Phone and social prompts, like “Read your last sent message out loud in a dramatic voice.”
      • Kids (77 questions). Simple, playful truths and dares.
      • Teens (76 questions). Crushes, school, phones and playlists.
      • Adults (83 questions). Work, dating and money, and still clean.

A few questions fit more than one group. Changing a chip picks a fresh set from the questions that match.

      How many on the wheel

All 294 questions would make slices too thin to read, so the wheel shows a random set. Set “Truths on the wheel” and “Dares on the wheel”, 16 each by default. The line under the boxes tells you how many questions match your chips.

      When the wheel runs low

The counter under the wheel shows how many questions are left. When you are running out, or you want new ones, press “New set of questions”. The wheel draws a new random set at the sizes you chose.

      When to use it

      • Family game night. Keep only the Family and Kids chips on. Young kids can spin and have someone read the question out loud.
      • Sleepovers and birthday parties. Turn on automatic removal, and press New set of questions whenever the wheel thins out.
      • Icebreakers. For a class or youth group, try Teens truths only. They are quick and low pressure.
      • Road trips. Go truths only, since most dares need room to move.
      • Video calls. One person shares their screen and spins for the whole group.

      House rules worth setting

Agree on a pass rule before you start, for example one skip per player per game. Several dares in the Friends set involve phones, so let players swap one out if they are not comfortable. A dare that someone is pushed into stops being fun for everyone.

      Is the pick fair?

Each question on the wheel has one equal slice. With the default 16 truths and 16 dares, the odds of a truth or a dare are even. The set is shuffled with your browser’s cryptographic random generator, and the winner is drawn the same way before the wheel moves.

Want your own questions? Paste them into the picker wheel on the homepage, one per line. To decide who goes first, put the players’ names into the random name picker.

      Frequently asked questions

How many truth or dare questions are there?

There are 294 in total: 142 truths and 152 dares, spread across five audiences. The wheel shows a random set of them at a time, 16 truths and 16 dares by default.

Are the questions safe for kids?

Yes, the whole list is clean. Keep only the Kids or Family chip on for silly, kid-level prompts. The Teens, Adults and Friends sets add school, work, phone and social prompts without anything crude.

Can I spin for only truths or only dares?

Yes. In the Options tab, untick Dare for a truths-only wheel or untick Truth for all dares. You can also set Truths on the wheel or Dares on the wheel to 0.

Will the same question come up twice?

Not if you remove it. Press Remove it after each turn, or turn on Remove each winner automatically in Settings so every question leaves the wheel once it has been used.

How do I get different questions on the wheel?

Press New set of questions. The wheel draws a fresh random set from every question that matches your chips, in the numbers of truths and dares you chose.

Does the wheel choose between truth and dare for me?

With both types on, yes. By default the wheel holds 16 truths and 16 dares, so the odds are even. Change the two numbers to tilt the game toward truths or dares.
