How to pick a date
- Check how many days the month has. January, March, May, July, August, October and December have 31.
- For shorter months, skip the days that do not exist (see below).
- Spin the wheel with the Spin button or Ctrl + Enter.
- The number in the result box is the day. If it falls on a day that does not suit you, choose Remove it and spin again.
Match the wheel to the month
The Numbers to skip box takes commas and hyphen runs:
- 30 day months (April, June, September, November): skip 31.
- February: skip 29-31, or 30, 31 in a leap year.
- Days you are busy: add them too, for example 31, 4, 12-15.

Fair odds for each date
In a 31 day month, each date has a 1 in 31 chance, about 3.2 percent. In February with three days skipped, each has a 1 in 28 chance. Your browser’s cryptographic random generator makes the pick before the wheel turns.

Frequently asked questions
How do I pick a day in a month with only 30 days?
Type 31 in the Numbers to skip box. The wheel then picks from 1 to 30, and each day has a 1 in 30 chance.
What about February?
Skip 29-31 in a normal year, which leaves 28 days. In a leap year, skip 30, 31 so the 29th stays in.
What is the chance of landing on my birthday?
With all 31 days in play, any single day has a 1 in 31 chance, about 3.2 percent.
Can I pick several different dates in the same month?
Yes. Switch on No repeats, or Remove each winner automatically in the Settings tab. Each day can then come up only once until you put the drawn numbers back.
Does it tell me which weekday the date falls on?
No. It only picks a number from 1 to 31. To get a full date and limit it to certain weekdays, use the random date generator on this site.
