This team name generator gives you random names for any group that needs one: a class project, a book club, a charity run, a camp cabin or a gaming squad. How the names are built

Without your word

About four results in ten come from a set of 30 handcrafted names, like The Comeback Crew or Last Minute Legends. The rest pair a bold adjective, such as a color or a speed word, with a team noun like an animal, from 40 of each. That is 1,600 word pairs on top of the full names.

With your word

Type a word and every result uses it in one of three patterns: your word plus a team noun, “The” plus an adjective plus your word, or adjective, word and noun together. Type Maple, for example, and you might get Maple Wolves. The first letter of your word is capitalized for you.

Tips for picking a name

Say it out loud. Shout it like a cheer. If it is hard to say, nobody will use it.
Check that it fits on a shirt. Long names shrink on T-shirts and banners. Two or three words is plenty.
Make sure everyone likes it. A name only one person loves will not stick. Put three options to a quick vote.
Keep it kind. Avoid names that mock a person, a rival school or any group. A team name should be fun to wear in front of anyone.
