Charades Generator
Random things to act out, from easy to hard.
Charades prompts anyone can act out
Most charades lists lean on movie titles, which leaves out kids, newcomers and anyone who has not seen the film. This charades generator skips titles completely. Every prompt is something you can act out with your body: an action like blowing bubbles, an animal like a kangaroo, a job like a lifeguard, or a scene like being stuck in an elevator. Pick a difficulty, press Generate, and start the round. It is free and works on any phone or laptop.
How to play with the charades generator
- Under Difficulty, choose Easy, Medium, Hard, or a mix. Easy and Medium start checked.
- Set “How many prompts”. Use 1 for a secret turn, or a bigger number to plan a whole round.
- The actor presses Generate and reads the prompt without showing anyone.
- They act it out with no talking and no mouthing words. Their team guesses.
- Press Generate again for the next player.
You can copy one prompt with the icon beside it, or press Copy all to print a list.
What each level contains
Easy: actions and animals (76 prompts)
Single, familiar movements and creatures: sneezing, tying shoes, flying a kite, walking a dog, elephant, penguin, frog. Great for children and for warming up a shy group.
Medium: jobs, sports and chores (74 prompts)
A job or an activity with a clear set of moves: astronaut, plumber, referee, surfing, doing yoga, mowing the lawn, packing a suitcase. Players have to pick the gestures that give it away.
Hard: scenes and situations (70 prompts)
Short stories with a problem in them: missing the bus, opening a stubborn ketchup bottle, a dog stealing your sandwich, trying to catch a runaway balloon. These reward actors who can show a beginning, middle and end.

English language practice
Acting out verbs like digging, sweeping and climbing a ladder links the word to the movement, which can help new learners remember vocabulary.
Team building
Use Hard prompts at a work event. Watching a coworker act out building furniture from a kit gets the whole room laughing.
Rainy day with kids
Set the count to 20, write each prompt on a slip, and draw from a hat all afternoon.
Fair prompts every time
Prompts are chosen by your browser’s cryptographic random generator. Every prompt in the checked levels has the same chance and none repeat within one batch. Your level and count settings stay saved in this browser.

Frequently asked questions
Does the charades generator include movie or book titles?
No. Every prompt is an action, an animal, a job or an everyday scene, so players do not need to know any films, shows or books to play.
How many charades prompts are there?
There are 220 prompts: 76 easy, 74 medium and 70 hard. Each prompt belongs to one level only.
What is the difference between easy, medium and hard?
Easy prompts are single actions and animals like brushing teeth or a penguin. Medium prompts are jobs, sports and chores like a firefighter or flipping pancakes. Hard prompts are little scenes, such as getting chased by a goose.
Is it good for young kids?
Yes. Keep only Easy checked and kids get simple actions and animals they can act out right away, such as hopping, yawning or a kangaroo.
How many prompts can I get at once?
Anywhere from 1 to 50. The default is 8, which is enough for a short round. Set it to 1 if the actor should be the only one who sees the prompt.
Why are hard prompts off by default?
Hard prompts are short stories that take more acting skill. Easy and Medium are checked at first, and you can tap the Hard chip whenever your group wants a challenge.
