A random college football team generator for the Power Four
Spin this wheel and land on a major college football program, with its conference shown under the name. The random college football team generator holds 68 teams: every school in the SEC, Big Ten, ACC and Big 12, plus Notre Dame. It is made for dynasty mode starts, bowl season picks and settling which game goes on the big TV. It is free and the teams are already loaded.
One thing to know up front: this wheel covers only the Power Four and Notre Dame. Group of Five programs, such as Memphis, Toledo or Appalachian State, are not included, and neither are FCS schools.
How to spin
- In the Options tab, keep the conferences you want checked.
- Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl + Enter.
- The dialog shows “Your team is”, the school, and the conference.
- Choose Done, Remove it, or Spin again.

The lineups match conference membership since the 2024 season, when Texas and Oklahoma joined the SEC, Oregon, Washington, USC and UCLA joined the Big Ten, Cal, Stanford and SMU joined the ACC, and Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah joined the Big 12.
Filter by conference
There is one row of five chips: SEC, Big Ten, ACC, Big 12 and Independent. Uncheck any you do not want.
- Keep SEC only for a 16 team wheel.
- Uncheck Independent to remove Notre Dame and spin among the 67 conference schools.
- Keep ACC and Big 12 for 33 teams.
If every chip is unchecked, the wheel is empty and will not spin.
Ways to use the college football wheel
Dynasty mode
Spin for the school you will coach in your college football video game. Want a rebuild? Spin until you land on a team you would never pick yourself, then stick with it.
Online dynasty with friends
Turn on “Remove each winner automatically”. Each player spins once, and no two people take the same school. Filter to one conference first if you want everyone in the same league.
Bowl season and rivalry week picks
Each person in your group spins for a team to back that week. Keep score in the Results tab, which counts every pick.
Saturday viewing
Too many kickoffs at noon? Spin and watch whichever game that school is playing in.
Stadium road trip
Spin for a campus to visit this fall, then plan the trip around a home game.

Frequently asked questions
Which teams are on the random college football team generator?
68 teams: 16 from the SEC, 18 from the Big Ten, 17 from the ACC, 16 from the Big 12, plus Notre Dame. Membership follows the conference lineups in place since the 2024 season.
Are Group of Five teams included?
No. Schools from the American, Conference USA, the MAC, the Mountain West and the Sun Belt are not on the wheel, and neither are FCS schools or independents other than Notre Dame.
Where is Notre Dame in the filters?
Notre Dame has its own chip called Independent. Uncheck it to spin among Power Four schools only, or keep only Independent if you want a wheel with one answer.
Can I spin within one conference?
Yes. In the Options tab, uncheck every conference except the one you want. Keeping only the Big Ten, for example, leaves its 18 teams.
How do I hand out teams so nobody gets the same school?
Turn on 'Remove each winner automatically' in Settings. A school leaves the wheel once its result is closed. Press the Restore button to bring every team back.
Does the result show the conference?
Yes. The result dialog shows the school name and, under it, the conference, such as ACC or Independent for Notre Dame.
